The event, which will be held in São Paulo, has a packed schedule of tournaments, presentations, and lectures that will cover this niche in the broadest possible way.

Famous names in the history of this niche are eagerly awaited by fans. The artist Yoshitaka Amano is the main one – he was one of those responsible for the visual design of the Final Fantasy characters, in addition to having participated in productions by the artist Neil Gaiman and also working in film. The most anticipated are the Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 tournament, which will award R$ 10 in prizes to the winner, and the Just Dance tournament, which will be held on the event's main stage. Pokémon Black/White, Asphalt 6, and Modern Combat are other games that will feature in competitions over the weekend.

Another attraction that should draw the public's attention is the GameWorld Trophy, an award ceremony for the best games of the past year. The categories are divided by console and range from PC to Playstation 2, including mobile devices and smartphone games. In the most anticipated category, Game of the Year, Batman: Arkham City, FIFA 12, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Gears of War 3, and Mario Kart 7 are competing.

GameWorld 2012 will be held at the Frei Caneca Shopping Mall Convention Center in Consolação. Tickets are still available and start at R$ 50.
