Luizianne's mother is a candidate for city councilor for the PMDB party.
Luiza Lins, mother of Luizianne Lins, the PT candidate for mayor of Fortaleza, is running for a seat in the City Council for the PMDB. With this year's electoral landscape defined, the two parties are on opposite sides, with the PMDB occupying the vice-mayor position on Capitão Wagner's (PR) ticket. Luiza Lins, however, has already declared her support for her daughter.
Ceará247 - The mother of federal congresswoman Luizianne Lins (PT), a candidate for mayor of Fortaleza this year, will be running for a seat on the City Council for the PMDB. This is the second time Luiza Lins has tried to be elected councilwoman. In 2012, then affiliated with the PT, Luiza ran for a seat but was not elected.
In 2014, Luiza Lins requested her disaffiliation from the Workers' Party and declared her support for the then-candidate for Governor of the State, Eunício Oliveira (PMDB), who was defeated by Camilo Santana (PT), who also did not have Luizianne Lins' support, although the congresswoman did not publicly endorse the candidacy of her opponent, Senator Eunício Oliveira.
This year, the PT and PMDB are once again on opposite sides in the Fortaleza elections. While the PMDB supports state deputy Capitão Wagner (PR), who will be running as vice-mayor alongside Gaudêncio Lucena (PMDB), the PT is alone with the former mayor who wants to return to the helm of the city hall of the capital of Ceará.
On her Facebook page, however, Luiza Lins has already made it clear that, despite being in a rival party, she will support her daughter, even though she is a candidate for the PMDB.
