Mines 247 - In a new stop on his caravan through Minas Gerais, this time in the city of Itaobim, former president Lula openly discussed Michel Temer's potential to remain in the presidency.

"Temer spent 14 billion to stay in the presidency last time. Today he's spending another 12. More than the 'Light for All' program," he compared, referring to his government's program that brought electricity to remote regions of Brazil.

Lula also criticized the government, saying that "they are trying to solve the crisis by putting the burden on the poor and the retired." He again condemned the judicial persecution of Lava Jato: "They have already turned my life upside down and found nothing. If they want to prevent me from being a candidate, let them have the courage to face me at the polls."

And he emphasized the importance of the PT in the elections: "No other party can bring people together at 3 pm, in this heat that's already burning even the leather of your shoes."

At the previous stop, in Ponto dos Volantes, he highlighted the development of the Jequitinhonha Valley during his administration and asked for the support of the people of Minas Gerais. "I don't need to make false promises because you know what happened in this country when I governed. They don't overthrow me not because I'm different, but because of your strength."
