Luizianne requests the Ministry of Justice to take action against the eviction of the Tapebas.

Federal deputy Luizianne Lins (PT) requested this Monday (20) the involvement of the Ministry of Justice against the eviction of 67 families from the Tapeba indigenous community, threatened with eviction from the community of the railway, in Caucaia (CE). Last month, the court granted an order for repossession of the land in favor of a construction company, but the territory was delimited by Funai as traditionally indigenous.

Ceará 247 - Federal deputy Luizianne Lins (PT) delivered this Monday (20) a request to the Ministry of Justice for measures to be taken against the eviction of 67 families belonging to the Tapeba indigenous community, occupying the Trilho community, in Caucaia (CE).

Last month, a court order was granted for the repossession of the land in favor of a construction company. The measure caused outrage, especially because the territory had been demarcated by the National Indian Foundation (Funai) as traditionally indigenous.

The deadline for the community to leave expired on the 9th. The following day, in protest, Tapeba Indians blocked two points on the BR-222 highway. Given the instability of the situation and the possibility of conflict in the region, Luizianne requested the involvement and monitoring of the Ministry of Justice.
