Lúcio proposes cameras on airplanes flying in Brazil.

Brazilian Congressman Lúcio Vieira Lima presented a bill to the Chamber of Deputies that would require Brazilian airlines to install closed-circuit video cameras on commercial aircraft. He argues that monitoring via video cameras will help prevent and resolve dangerous situations. "A quick internet search reveals incidents that could have been resolved quickly if this security system had already been in place," the congressman stated.

Bahia 247 - Brazilian federal deputy Lúcio Vieira Lima (PMDB) from Bahia presented a bill to the Chamber of Deputies that would require Brazilian airlines to install closed-circuit video cameras on commercial transport aircraft.

Bill No. 1458 of 2015 aims to increase security on airplanes, whether for passenger or cargo transport, considering the possibility of situations requiring image capture, such as thefts, fights, harassment, terrorist threats, damage to transported cargo, among others.

According to Lúcio, the adoption of new security measures, such as video camera monitoring, will help in the prevention and resolution of the situations mentioned. "A quick internet search reveals episodes that could have been resolved quickly if this security system had already been in place," the congressman states.

Lúcio says that the proposal differs from the monitoring system that only covers the pilot's cabin, as already exists in many companies. "The installation of video cameras in aircraft would occur in passenger and crew circulation areas, and in the cargo compartment, as already exists in various means of transport, such as buses, trains, subways, etc."
