247 - After filing a Public Civil Action in the Judiciary against the telephone operators OI, Claro, Tim, and Telefônica (Vivo), Procon Goiás obtained a preliminary injunction favorable to consumers. The injunction orders the companies to maintain internet access service on prepaid cell phones, in the manner originally agreed upon with users, only reducing the speed after the contracted data allowance is used up. The decision benefits all consumers in Goiás.

The telephone companies will also have to disclose, within five days and in two major newspapers in Goiás, information to users about the suspension of internet access blocking after the end of the contracted data allowance, and must attach a copy to the case file for proof purposes within ten days. A daily fine of R$ 25 was set for each telephone company, and in case of non-compliance, they will also be charged with the crime of disobedience.
