PT-BA leader sees "harmony" in Dilma's speech.
Jonas Paulo assessed that the president's speech had a positive effect on the activists and weakened the demonstrations planned for this Saturday (22), including in Salvador; but her words did not translate into reality; today's demonstration was violent on the part of vandals who joined the movement and military police.

According to Jonas Paulo, the PT (Workers' Party) leader in Bahia, President Dilma Rousseff's speech on national radio and television last night was completely in tune with the current situation in Brazil, marked by the wave of protests that began with the Free Fare Movement.
The president of the PT party in Bahia assessed that Dilma's speech had a positive effect on the activists and weakened the demonstrations planned for this Saturday, including in Salvador.
"Violent and vandalistic acts have emptied the positive and important content that the youth brought to the streets and which, in fact, needs to continue to be debated," Jonas said in an interview with the Bahia Notícias website.
Despite the optimism of the Workers' Party member, today's demonstration was violent, with vandals joining the movement and military police officers participating.
For Jonas, there are three priority causes that the movement has been advocating for: "fighting corruption, political reform, and urban mobility."
The Workers' Party member said that "people's lives have improved, but the lives of cities have not," and repeated the mantra chanted by President Dilma this Friday, stating that "the government and the party are paying attention and we are working to strengthen the debate."
