Robberies resulting in death fall by 40,79%, and all types of crime show a reduction.

This year, homicides decreased by 12,29%. All types of crime considered high priority fell compared to last year; in the capital, homicides showed a decrease of 31,58%; robberies in residences and vehicle thefts fell by 45,11% and 38,19%, respectively; robberies resulting in death fell by 60% and homicides by 20% in Aparecida de Goiânia; Anápolis, last month, reduced robberies in businesses by 50%; all 12 types of crime considered high priority are decreasing in the area surrounding the Federal District.

Goiás 247 - The 2017 report on reactive occurrences confirms a drop in crime in Goiás. The information was released by the Secretariat of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration (SSPAP) this Thursday (November 2nd). In the accumulated period from January to October, the twelve criminal categories monitored by the SSPAP decreased compared to the same period last year. Robberies resulting in death plummeted (-40,13%) during this period. Homicides decreased (-12,29%), rapes are lower (-12,61%), and attempted homicides decreased (-22,05%).

Robberies of pedestrians have accumulated a decrease of (-25,97%), vehicle thefts are (-27,51%) below that recorded in this period last year, and robberies in businesses and residences have fallen (-33,75%) and (-21,57%), respectively.

Compared to last year, vehicle thefts decreased (-14,96%), as did thefts from businesses (-15,36%), thefts from pedestrians (-22,18%), and thefts from residences (-3,27%).

October

In October, compared to the same period last year, there was a decrease in eleven of the 12 areas considered high priority by public safety authorities.

Last month, homicides registered a decrease of (-12,39%) compared to the same period in 2016. Robberies resulting in death decreased by 16,67%, while attempted homicides decreased by (-16,88%). Rapes increased by 4,62%.

According to the data, the robbery category showed the most significant decreases. Robberies of pedestrians decreased (-38,9%), followed by robberies of businesses (-40,06%), vehicle thefts (-33,45%), and robberies of residences (-25%).

Thefts in the state also decreased in October. Crimes against businesses fell (-24,78%), as did those in residences (-16,08%), those against pedestrians (-14,24%), and those involving vehicles (-6,18%).

Homicides fall 31,58% in the Capital.


Homicides and attempted homicides fell sharply last month in Goiânia. Homicides decreased (-31,58%), while attempted homicides declined (-35,9%). Rapes and robberies resulting in death remained stable.

All types of robberies registered a sharp reduction in the capital. Robberies of pedestrians fell by (-44,11%), vehicle thefts fell by (-38,19%), robberies of businesses by (-37,54%), and robberies of residences by (-45,11%). Thefts from businesses, residences, and pedestrians decreased, respectively, by (-19,84%), (-14,40%), and (-13,57%). Vehicle thefts fell by (-1,22%).

In the accumulated total for the first ten months of 2017, the twelve types of reactive crimes surveyed showed a decline in Goiânia. Homicides decreased (-13,39%), rapes (-28,79%), attempted homicides (-30,82%), robberies resulting in death (-15,63%), robberies of pedestrians (-27,81%), vehicle thefts (-35,53%), robberies of businesses (-41,63%), robberies of residences (-29,16%), vehicle thefts (-21,32%), thefts from businesses (-25,26%), thefts from residences (-2,43%), and thefts from pedestrians (-21,17%).

In Aparecida de Goiânia, robberies against pedestrians fell by 44,08%.

Ten out of 12 reactive crime occurrences decreased last month in Aparecida de Goiânia. Rapes decreased (-41,67%), attempted homicides (-45,00%), robberies of pedestrians (-44,08%), vehicle thefts (-33,15%), robberies of businesses (-26,92%), robberies of residences (-21,31%), thefts from businesses (-19,44%), thefts from residences (-24,39%), and thefts from pedestrians (-17,32%). Homicides and vehicle thefts showed growth of 25% and 2,33%, respectively.

For the year, the municipality recorded a decrease of (-20,09%) in homicides, (-19,67%) in rapes, (-40,70%) in attempted homicides, (-60%) in robberies resulting in death, (-21,58%) in robberies of pedestrians, (-21,97%) in vehicle thefts, (-17,57%) in robberies of businesses, (-0,22%) in robberies of residences, (-38,22%) in burglaries of businesses, (-4,76%) in burglaries of residences, and (-16,61%) in burglaries of pedestrians. Only vehicle thefts showed an increase of 3,33%.


Throughout the year, the area surrounding Brasília has seen a decrease in all reactive incidents.

All 12 types of crimes considered high priority by public security agencies are decreasing in the area surrounding the Federal District, when comparing the figures for the first ten months of 2017 with the same period in 2016.

The figures compiled between January and October showed the following decreases: homicides (-20,79%), rapes (-10,81%), attempted homicides (-31,45%), robberies resulting in death (-28,95%), robberies of pedestrians (-24,11%), vehicle thefts (-26,05%), robberies of businesses (-18,80%), robberies of residences (-18,48%), vehicle thefts (-8,10%), thefts from businesses (-12,04%), thefts from residences (-8,77%), and thefts from pedestrians (-42,91%).

In October, the reduction affected eleven types of crime in the region. Homicides, rapes, and attempted homicides decreased (-15,79%), (-10,53%), and (-38,75%), respectively. Robberies of pedestrians decreased (-27,59%), vehicle thefts (-46,33%), robberies of businesses (-47,47%), and robberies of residences (-1,75%).

All theft categories also decreased: vehicle thefts (-8,89%), thefts from businesses (-13,59%), thefts from residences (-7,16%), and thefts from pedestrians (-40,82%). Robberies resulting in death increased by 66,67%.


Anápolis reduces robberies against businesses by 50%.

Located between the capital of Goiás state and the federal capital, Anápolis saw a reduction in five crime categories in October. Four remained stable, while three increased compared to October of last year. The following decreased: robberies of pedestrians (-36,14%), robberies of businesses (-50%), vehicle thefts (-35,29%), thefts from businesses (-27,91%), and burglaries (-27,74%). Attempted homicides increased by 16,67%, vehicle thefts by 13,33%, and burglaries by 20%.

However, during the year, the municipality saw a reduction in nine of the twelve monitored crime categories. Rapes decreased (-62,96%), as did attempted homicides (-14,29%), robberies of pedestrians (-29,21%), vehicle thefts (-27,42%), robberies of businesses (-62,50%), robberies of residences (-22,70%), vehicle thefts (-12,25%), thefts from businesses (-14,18%), and thefts from residences (-0,08%). Homicides, with 5,11%, robberies resulting in death, 16,67%, and thefts from residences, 1,78%, are the categories that increased compared to last year.
