Kátia Abreu and Ataídes sign agreement to grant direct amendments to municipalities.

"We have signed the amendments, one for machinery for the 134 mayors, through the Ministry of Integration, and the other for urban infrastructure in the five largest cities in the state; this is signed. So, to avoid losing the amendments, they just need to sign them as well. The majority always wins. They have a majority in the Chamber of Deputies, and we have a majority in the Senate. So they should take responsibility for not losing the amendments. We are sending them to the mayors. In this way, 139 mayors will be served with the parliamentary group amendments," said Senator Kátia Abreu.

Tocantins 247 - On the last day of the deadline for the Tocantins delegation to submit the minutes with signatures forwarding the delegation's amendments for infrastructure in the five largest municipalities of Tocantins and amendments for the purchase of machinery for the other 134 municipalities in the State, Senators Ataídes Oliveira (PSDB) and Kátia Abreu (PMDB) provided the missing signatures for the documentation.

"We have signed the amendments, one for machinery for the 134 mayors, through the Ministry of Integration, and the other for urban infrastructure in the five largest cities in the state; this is signed. So they should take responsibility for not losing the amendments. We are sending them to the mayors. In this way, 139 mayors will be served with caucus amendments," said Senator Kátia Abreu. T1 News.

Kátia said that last year 100% of the amendments were allocated to the state government. "Remember that 100% of last year's amendments, more than R$ 100 million, went entirely to the state government, which is now delivering patrol vehicles and equipment to the firefighters and didn't even invite the parliamentary group. Especially those from the opposition. We received no invitation, thanks, or mention that we passed this parliamentary group amendment to the state government. It's as if they raised the funds on their own," she exclaimed.

Senator Ataídes Oliveira said he even called Governor Marcelo Miranda (PMDB) to ask if the State Government would honor its commitment to distribute the machinery to the municipalities. "He made a commitment to me," said Ataídes, who has already signed the amendment agreement. "Two factors were preventing me from signing this part, which the State would operationalize, which is something around R$ 78 million, already excluding the 30% that was unfortunately allocated to the campaign fund, and R$ 78 million for the purchase of machinery for 137 municipalities," Ataídes explained.

"Besides it being an election year, I would add that the governor is being investigated by the Federal Police for the embezzlement of 200 million reais in Operation Kings of Cattle. Given the situation, it is not advisable to prioritize the governor. The priority at this moment is to release funds for the mayors," the senator reminded, pointing to another factor besides the approaching election deadline.

Amendments for Palmas

On Friday morning, the mayor of Palmas, Carlos Amastha (PSB), used his personal Facebook page to publish a video in which he commented on the agreement for mandatory parliamentary amendments, debated by Tocantins parliamentarians in Brasília. Amastha criticized Vicentinho's position and accused the government of maneuvering to leave Palmas without amendments. "I couldn't fail to comment on what is happening in Tocantins with this issue of parliamentary amendments. I remained silent when I saw this movement of this misgovernment that Tocantins has and this parliamentary leader (Vicentinho Alves) who behaves like a government leader and not like a leader who truly represents all the people of Tocantins. It's a shame, this terrible performance by Governor Marcelo Miranda and Senator Vicentinho Alves. A disgrace for Tocantins," said the mayor of Palmas.
