Vice-Governor Otto Alencar has the guarantee from the PSD party, led by Gilberto Kassab, that he will run for governor to succeed Jaques Wagner, even if it means breaking the alliance with the PT; this paints a picture of fragmentation within the allied base in the race for the Palácio da Ondina in 2014.
247 - The race for the Palácio da Ondina (Governor's Palace) in 2014 should have at least three names from parties allied with Governor Jaques Wagner: Geddel Vieira Lima, from the PMDB, who has already launched his candidacy; a name to be indicated by the PT; and now, Otto Alencar, from the PSD. The national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, returns from the United Arab Emirates on the 25th. The following day, he will go to Salvador to talk with the vice-governor, Otto Alencar, who has complained of being disregarded by the party. Kassab seeks to reverse the discontent by guaranteeing that he will be a candidate for governor of Bahia, even if it means breaking the alliance with the PT.
