Kajuru will be a candidate for federal deputy for Goiás.

The broadcaster made the announcement on his Twitter account this Friday (7); it is not the first time he has flirted with the project, but now, he claims, he was definitively convinced by his friend Romário; the controversial sports commentator said that he will soon be unemployed on TV due to strong pressure exerted by politicians and football officials; Kajuru also says that he will give up auxiliary funds offered by the Chamber, that he will live only on his salary and that he needs parliamentary immunity to shield himself from “million-dollar lawsuits”

Kajuru will be a candidate for federal deputy for Goiás.

Goiás247_ Controversial sports commentator Jorge Kajuru announced this Friday (7), on his Twitter microblog account, that he will be a candidate for federal deputy for Goiás in the 2014 elections. The communicator should join some party of the bloc formed by the DEM of the leader in the Federal Chamber Ronaldo Caiado, by the PSB of the recently affiliated businessman Vanderlan Cardoso (blessed by the governor of Pernambuco Eduardo Campos) or by the PRP of the former Secretary of Finance of the State, Jorcelino Braga.

Kajuru worked in Goiás for 15 years and owned Radio K do Brasil, which was very successful in the sports field during the second half of the 90s.

Speculation about a possible candidacy of Kajuru always gains strength on the eve of an election. He himself even stated that he would be a candidate for governor of Goiás. This time, however, the announcement made in his own voice was vehement, in capital letters: "I AM A CANDIDATE FOR FEDERAL DEPUTY FOR GOIÁS, united in party and struggle with Ronaldo Caiado, Vanderlan and Braga."

Kajuru, in fact, has already made his first promise: "I will forgo or donate all of this as a congressman. I will only live on my salary," he said, referring to allowances for airfare, housing, suits, and office expenses.

In 2010, there was speculation that the commentator would run for the Chamber of Deputies for the PSOL party. However, Kajuru's participation was limited to asking for votes for his former colleague Martiniano Cavalcante, then a member of the PSOL National Executive Committee, who was defeated in the race for a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Goiás.

Persecution

On his Twitter account, Kajuru explains the reasons for the change of direction in his professional career: “NO ONE will give me a job on TV in Brazil anymore. Soon, I will be fired from the only one that still does,” he says, referring to TV Esporte Interativo. “I love TV @Esp_Interativo, but the political and also sporting pressure on them to fire me is overwhelming. No TV station can withstand it,” he denounces.

Kajuru recalls that he had already expressed the possibility of entering politics: "I announced live, on national television on the Ratinho Show, on SBT, that I would ONLY be a candidate if I were unemployed in television, and everything is pointing towards that reality."

And he justifies himself: “What would they do in my place: remain without a platform to denounce, defend themselves, create projects, be different, and never be absent? Or remain with their mouths agape, waiting for the moment to die, unemployed and depressed?”

Incentive

“Romário (federal deputy for the PSB party in Rio de Janeiro) and other friends convinced me. Besides, it will be the only chance to escape lawsuits with multimillion-dollar compensation claims: parliamentary immunity. God and my mother know I never wanted to get involved, but they know I have no other alternative and that I will never disappoint them.”

Confident, Kajuru looks to the hero of the 1994 World Cup as an example: “Just like my brother Romário, I will make a difference in Brasília. I guarantee today, I will be the best congressman in every sense.”
