Pernambuco247 – It is still possible to find many campaign advertisements for Eduardo Campos as a candidate for President of the Republic on the streets and avenues of Recife. In many campaign events, there are flags with the names of Eduardo and Marina.

However, the Pernambuco Electoral Court decided to veto the use of the former governor's image as a candidate in new advertisements throughout the state of Pernambuco. He died in a plane crash in Santos on August 13th, and was replaced by his running mate, Marina Silva (PSB), in the presidential race.

The Regional Electoral Court (TRE-PE), through Judge Júlio Cézar Santos da Silva, also decided to impose a fine of R$ 15 if any campaign material is distributed that still presents Eduardo Campos as a candidate.

Lawyers for the coalition of Paulo Câmara, the PSB candidate for governor of Pernambuco, assure that since Campos' death, they no longer list him as a candidate. They justify this by stating that before the accident, campaign material was made available for download, making it impossible to control.

But for the Electoral Public Prosecutor's Office, the coalition led by the PSB continues to use and broadcast the propaganda. And that this situation affects and affronts the principles of truthfulness, legality, and transparency.
