Court rejects Alckmin's lawsuit against Skaf.
Judge Marcelo Coutinho Gordo, of the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo, dismissed a lawsuit filed by the "Aqui é São Paulo" coalition, led by the PSDB party, against the PMDB candidate for governor of the state, Paulo Skaf. The coalition accused the licensed president of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo) of using the institution's advertising for electoral purposes in an advertisement broadcast on July 1st. "The commercial was merely institutional advertising," stated the judge.

The coalition accused the suspended president of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo) of using the institution's propaganda for electoral purposes in an advertisement broadcast on television and radio on July 1st.
According to the judge of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE), there was no premature campaigning. "The commercial only deals with issues pertaining to FIESP's own platform, in accordance with the interests of its members," wrote Coutinho Gordo in his decision. "In truth, it is merely institutional advertising," the judge stated.
