A preliminary injunction issued by Judge Jussara Cristina Oliveira Louza, of the 3rd Public Treasury Court of the Court of Justice of Goiás (TJ-GO), orders that teachers and municipal education employees leave the City Council chamber.
However, the strikers are already preparing to spend a second night in the building. Tents have even been set up in the plenary hall, and water and supplies are available for the workers.
Later tonight, Wednesday, the strike committee will meet with city councilors and the president of the City Council, Clécio Alves (PMDB), to try to find the best solution. The movement demands that Mayor Paulo Garcia (PT) negotiate with the group, but the city hall is not very open to dialogue.
Invasion
The teachers stormed the plenary session on Tuesday morning after being defeated in a vote on an amendment that would have benefited their profession. Since then, they have remained in the plenary session, constantly shouting slogans against Paulo Garcia and demanding negotiation.
