The court has scheduled Cachoeira's testimony for July 24th.
The date was set by Judge Alderico Rocha Santos, of the 5th Federal Court in Goiás, who took over the criminal case on Tuesday the 19th and said he was in a hurry to resolve the matter.
Agency Brazil – The testimony of businessman Carlos Augusto Ramos, known as Carlinhos Cachoeira, in the Federal Court in Goiás, has been scheduled for July 24th, at 9 am. The date was set by Judge Alderico Rocha Santos, of the 5th Federal Court in Goiás, who took over the criminal case yesterday (19). He became responsible for the process after two judges from the 11th Federal Court, where the case is located, resigned.
At the end of May, a preliminary injunction from Judge Fernando Tourinho Neto, of the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region (TRF1), suspended the hearing of the businessman and other defendants in the case.
Tourinho suspended the depositions, alleging that some procedural steps were still needed regarding telephone data. He also determined that Cachoeira was entitled to at least four hours of private conversation with his lawyers at the Papuda Prison in Brasília, where he is being held.
According to the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the First Region, there was no appeal against Tourinho's injunction. However, the agency reports that the decision preventing the hearings may automatically be overturned if the requirements set by the judge are met.
