SP 247 – The São Paulo Court of Justice upheld the provisional decision that removed council member Robson Marinho from the State Court of Auditors (TCE) in August. According to Judge Isabel Cogan, there are no grounds to reverse the decision now.

Marinho was removed from his position after the State Public Prosecutor's Office accused him of receiving bribes from Alstom to favor the multinational in an energy sector contract signed with the São Paulo state government.

He helped the company secure contracts without bidding with São Paulo state-owned companies in 1998, during the administration of Mário Covas, a member of the PSDB party. Swiss authorities said he had US$2,7 million in a bank account in the name of an offshore company linked to him and his wife. He has approximately US$3 million frozen in the European country.
