247 with international agencies - The United States Department of Justice was the victim of an attack by the Anonymous hacker group.
In the statement, the Department emphasizes that its main website - www.justice.gov - was not affected, but that it "continues to implement defensive and protective measures to safeguard its information," and that it will initiate a criminal investigation into any activity that appears illegal.

A message on the social network Twitter, signed by Jimmy89 and attributed to the Anonymous group, speaks of possessing "1,7 gigabytes of data from the United States Department of Justice." "In all this looting we will surely find many gems, such as internal emails," says the author of the message. "We do not defend any party or government, we defend people's freedom, freedom of expression and information. We publish this data to allow people (...) to become aware of corruption in the government."
