Judge suspected of being an ally of Cachoeira will be tried.

Goiás 247_ The Regional Labor Court of Goiás (18th Region) will hold a hearing on the 26th of this month to investigate suspicions of Judge Júlio César Cardoso de Brito's involvement with members of an organization linked to the illegal gambling operator Carlinhos Cachoeira.

The session will be public, in accordance with the terms of Resolution No. 135 of the National Council of Justice. This information comes from journalist Frederico Vasconcelos, in the Public Interest column of Folha de S.Paulo.

The judge is suspected of receiving gifts or promises of benefits, such as tickets to artistic events, tourist packages, and a luxury car (Citroen C4 Pallas), which was allegedly partially paid for with funds from the criminal organization. Cardoso de Brito claims he knew Cachoeira, but only superficially.

The case includes 77 phone calls intercepted by the police, in which the magistrate converses with one of Cachoeira's right-hand men, Gleyb Ferreira da Cruz, whom Brito refers to as "brother".

In the conversations, the judge discusses the situation of companies with labor lawsuits in the Regional Labor Court of Goiás, including the Vitapan laboratory, controlled by Cachoeira's group, the JC drug distributor, owned by one of the businessman's brothers, and Ideal Segurança.

There are suspicions that a trip the magistrate took to Buenos Aires was sponsored by Gleyb. In one of the conversations recorded by the Federal Police during Operation Monte Carlo, an associate of Cachoeira discusses with Brito the order of a computer that the businessman would bring to him from Miami (USA).

The judge states that he did not participate in the judgment of cases of interest to the companies. Brito argued in his defense in the court records that he had no influence whatsoever on the judgment of the cases.

Brito maintains that he had social contact with Gleyb and with the (suspended) Federal Police delegate Deuselino Valadares dos Santos, but that it did not reach the level of close friendship or any business relationship.
