Alagoas247 - After having his name mentioned in an alleged illegal scheme, which would benefit those accused in the death of lawyer Marcos André Félix, in Marechal Deodoro, magistrate Léo Dennisson Bezerra de Almeida declared incompatibility and decided to withdraw from the case. The judge published the decision on Monday (30) and cited the need for "balance" in the face of "a sea of slander".
The request to remove the magistrate is directly linked to the arrest of lawyer Júlio César Castro and the prosecutor of Marechal Deodoro, Jorge Augusto Granjero Carnaúba. The two were arrested by the Federal Police last Thursday with approximately R$ 100 in cash, which was allegedly intended to influence the court's decision and free Janadaris and Sérgio Sfredo from prison.
"This is a criminal case in which the lawyers for some of the accused were arrested in flagrante delicto by the Federal Police, for the alleged crime of exploitation of prestige or influence peddling, supposedly to be carried out with this magistrate, aiming at the release of one of the defendants," explains Léo Dennisson Almeida at the beginning of the published decision.
In the text, the magistrate states that the measure aims to avoid procedural irregularities. "In this sense, considering the imperative need to adopt appropriate legal measures in this case, and in the face of all those who, in this sea of slander, acted in this way, it is evident that the necessary balance of this judge for the impartial conduct of the case is now shaken," he adds.
Lawyers have their arrest warrants revoked. - Lawyers Júlio César Castro and Jorge Augusto Granjero Carnaúba were arrested at Praia do Francês, in Marechal Deodoro, last Thursday, but had their arrest revoked this Monday (31), by decision of the 17th Criminal Court of the Capital.
However, the court ruled that the two will remain in their respective homes under electronic monitoring. They will wear an ankle bracelet, a device that allows the prisoner to be tracked.
