'Left-wing Jewish people' criticize Monark, Kim Kataguiri, Glenn Greenwald, and Rui Costa Pimenta
In a statement, a Jewish organization calls for the removal from office of the federal deputy who agreed with Monark on the legality of a Nazi party.
247 - The Jewish Left collective criticized in a statement the positions of Monark, host of the Flow Podcast, and federal deputy Kim Kataguiri (Podemos-SP) for defending the legality of a Nazi party in Brazil. The text also calls for "the revocation of this deputy's mandate, since this attitude constitutes nothing less than the crime of advocating Nazism."
In addition to the authors of the speech, the organization also criticized those who echoed the statements, such as Glenn Greenwald on social media and Rui Costa Pimenta, president of the PCO (Workers' Cause Party). "The former has been demonstrating his denialist side for some time now, especially through his support of the anti-scientific discourse of those opposed to vaccines. And Pimenta, who under the pseudo-argument of 'unrestricted freedom of expression,' has publicly positioned himself against the illegality of fascism and Nazism," the signatories explained.
Finally, the collective points out that the Flow podcast invited Mr. André Lajst for an interview as a way to compensate the Jewish community after the damage. "We made it clear that this gentleman absolutely does not represent us as Leftist Jews. His positions demonstrated over the last few years clearly separate us from him in ideological terms, and in this way, we also distance ourselves from his positions," they stated.

We, Jewish men and women of the Left, have come forward to make clear our revulsion not only regarding the episode that occurred on the Flow podcast, but also regarding the absurd support that the YouTuber Monark subsequently received.
We don't need to elaborate on how absurd the YouTuber's defense of freedom of expression for Nazi ideas is; after all, anyone with a modicum of conscience understands the level of senselessness and perversity this entails. According to Monark's line of thinking, there are no limits to freedom of expression. Therefore, advocating for rape and pedophilia, for example, should also fall within the sphere of this "freedom."
But we do not limit ourselves to repudiating Monark, a citizen who has proven countless times to possess extremely limited intellectual capacity. We consider the worst part of this scenario to be the stance of Congressman Kim Kataguiri, who not only agreed with the defense of legalizing a Nazi party in Brazil, but also added that he thinks it is wrong for Germany to have criminalized Nazism. Brazil, and no country in the world, can have political representatives of this ilk. Therefore, we request the revocation of this congressman's mandate, since his attitude constitutes nothing less than the crime of advocating Nazism.
We also want to mention our complete disgust at the support for Monark and Kataguiri's positions publicly demonstrated by both journalist Glenn Greenwald and the PCO party, especially its president Rui Costa Pimenta. The former has been showing his denialist side for some time now, particularly through his support for the anti-scientific discourse of those opposed to vaccines. And Pimenta, under the pseudo-argument of "unrestricted freedom of expression," has publicly positioned himself against the illegality of fascism and Nazism.
Finally, one more warning: the Flow podcast has just invited Mr. André Lajst for an interview. We want to make it clear that this gentleman absolutely does not represent us as Leftist Jews. His positions demonstrated over the last few years clearly separate us from him ideologically, and in this way, we also distance ourselves from his positions.
As left-leaning Jews committed to democracy, social justice, and human rights, in the ongoing struggle against Bolsonaro's regime in Brazil and for understanding and joint work between Jews and Palestinians in the Middle East, we make our position clear.
