José Genoino is discharged from the Sírio-Libanês hospital.

The Workers' Party (PT) congressman had been hospitalized since the 24th, when he underwent surgery to correct an aortic dissection. According to a medical bulletin from the hospital, José Genoino's health condition is stable.

São Paulo – Congressman José Genoino (PT-SP) was discharged today (20) from the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since the 24th, when he underwent surgery to correct an aortic dissection. According to the hospital's medical bulletin, Genoino's health condition is stable.

The 67-year-old congressman was in Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo state, when he felt severe chest pains and was treated at a local hospital. On the same day, he was transferred to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital. On the 5th of this month, Genoino suffered a mild stroke, which was reversed and left no lasting effects.

Genoino, former president of the Workers' Party (PT) and former leader of the party in the Chamber of Deputies, is currently serving his seventh term as a federal deputy. He is a member of the House's Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJC).
