247 - Actor José Dumont, 72, arrested in flagrante delicto this Thursday (15) by civil police officers from the Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station (DCAV), for the crime of storing images of sex involving children, was already the target of another investigation.
José Dumont was the target of an investigation by the DCAV (Specialized Police Station for Crimes Against Children and Adolescents) for the crime of rape of a vulnerable person. According to the police, he allegedly took advantage of his prestige and recognition as an actor to attract the attention of a 12-year-old boy who was a fan of the suspect.
According to the Extra portal, the investigation also indicates that he developed a close relationship with the boy, offering financial help and gifts, taking advantage of the victim's financial vulnerability to then make advances with kisses on the mouth and intimate caresses, which ended up being captured by surveillance cameras, initiating the investigations.
Resignation and tributes canceled.
Dumont was fired from Globo after the events gained publicity. He lost his contract for the telenovela "Todas as Flores," which premieres in October on Globoplay. "The suspicion of pedophilia is serious," the network said in a statement.
According to the news portal Notícias da TV, his character in the plot would exploit children begging on the streets. Galo was described as a murderer and thief. He would also act as a receiver in the human trafficking scheme run by the villain Zoé (Regina Casé).
The organizers of the CineFantasy film festival have also cancelled the tribute they were planning to pay to the actor. This information was released in a statement by the event organizers, who were to screen several films from the actor's career. CineFantasy regretted the events and clarified that they have no control over the personal lives of those being honored.
