João Vicente returns to PMDB with an eye on 2018.
Former Senator João Vicente Claudino will return to the PMDB party after leaving the PTB, led by Senator Elmano Ferrer, in April of this year. The former parliamentarian stated he is available to the party for a possible run for governor in 2018; this information comes from columnist Paulo Pincel. Claudino justified his return to the PMDB by citing the party's strength and the leadership within it, both in the state and nationally. "Because of the leadership at the forefront of the party, because of the commitment the party has to the state, to the country, and to the people who built Brazilian democracy," he affirmed.

After going to Brasília last Tuesday (9), to talk to national leaders of the party, such as the interim president, Michel Temer, João Vicente was received, this Thursday (11), with a party in the office of the president of the Legislative Assembly, deputy Themístocles Filho (PMDB).
“He is a citizen, a former senator, gubernatorial candidate, and state secretary. He is a figure with influence in the political life of our state and our country. He is an important person for the PMDB,” celebrated Themístocles Filho, who has been responsible for the growth and strengthening of the party throughout Piauí.
