João is going to another party within Wagner's base.

And the president of the PT in Bahia, Jonas Paulo, makes it clear that the subject is unpalatable; "It's an internal matter of an allied party, it's not up to me to comment"; João Henrique, the worst mayor in Salvador's history, according to popular opinion, is joining his fifth party in ten years, the tiny PSL; his mission: to run for federal deputy in 2014 with the role of 'vote-getter' for the Legislative Assembly; the former mayor officially left the PP yesterday; his affiliation with the PSL will take place on the 31st.

No matter how much Governor Jaques Wagner (PT) doesn't want it (or at least pretends not to want it), the proximity of former mayor João Henrique, the worst in Salvador's history according to popular opinion, to his government is increasing.

After having his eldest son appointed to the cabinet of the Chief of Staff of the State and Workers' Party pre-candidate for governor in 2014, Rui Costa, João is now packing his bags to join the PSL, a small party in Wagner's base in the Assembly, but one of unquestionable loyalty.

With his entry into the PSL, the former mayor puts an end, at least until 2014, to the delusion of being a candidate for governor of Bahia, but gains the status of a bigwig in the party and will have the role of 'vote-getter' for the Assembly as a candidate for federal deputy.

And as mentioned above, once again fate (?) seals João Henrique's proximity to the Workers' Party. The PSL will be the former mayor's fifth party in ten years. He officially announced his departure from the PP yesterday, which is also part of the governor's base.

Members of the Workers' Party (PT) make it clear that the subject is unpalatable. "It's an internal matter for an allied party; it's not up to me to comment," said the president of the PT in Bahia, Jonas Paulo, in an article in the newspaper Tribuna da Bahia.

Just like Governor Jaques Wagner, Jonas Paulo also affirms that João's affiliation with the PSL and the nomination of his son to the Civil House do not represent any alteration in the state's political landscape.

"It's an act with no political connection whatsoever to what we are building for Governor Jaques Wagner's process," Jonas states.
