João Gorski remains as the chief of the Civil Police.
The Secretary of Public Security announces that a career civil servant from the Civil Police will remain in his position; the delegate affirms that he will prioritize combating crimes against life and drug trafficking.
Goiás 247_ João Carlos Gorski was kept as general delegate of the Civil Police (PC) of Goiás. The announcement was made by the Secretary of Public Security, Joaquim Mesquita, during a press conference at the Pedro Ludovico Palace, in Goiânia, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (16).
Since Adriana Accorsi left her post to assume the position of Secretary of Social Defense for the City of Goiânia, police chief João Gorski had been acting as interim head and made no secret of his interest in remaining in the position. João's name was suggested by Joaquim Mesquita and approved by Governor Marconi Perillo.
Combating trafficking
In an interview with newspaper The essayThe new chief of police revealed that he will continue the work already being done in the state. "The Civil Police already has a plan, which will continue. We will continue working tirelessly," he stated. "We will focus primarily on combating crimes against life and drug trafficking," he announced.
Originally from Curitiba (PR), João has 25 years of experience in the police force, 13 of which were as a police chief in Goiás. He has served in the regional office in Formosa (GO), was head of the Civil Police Intelligence Unit, coordinated the Organized Crime Repression Group, and also led the Intelligence Superintendency of the Public Security Secretariat.
