João and Déda will meet this Wednesday and are expected to finalize Proinveste.

Valter Lima, from Sergipe 247 – The mayor of Aracaju, João Alves Filho (DEM), said, this Tuesday (26), when talking to the press, at the State Meeting of Mayors, that he will prioritize the construction of the new avenue, the West Perimeter, which will cut through 20 neighborhoods of the capital, as a work to receive resources from Proinveste. This Wednesday, at 15:30 pm, he will meet with Governor Marcelo Déda (PT) to finalize negotiations around the project.

When questioned by Sergipe 247 about the amount that will be allocated to the project, João said that he is still in discussions with the governor and, therefore, did not want to give any figures. He informed that the expectation is that the final Proinveste proposal will reach the Assembly at the beginning of next week.

At the Mayors' Meeting, Déda once again thanked João for his participation in reopening the dialogue regarding the loan. "Throughout my life, I have fought for Sergipe – and for Aracaju, with all my heart – regardless of party affiliations. Whatever resources come here, I support them. I was happy to be able to contribute to making everything work out," said the mayor, commenting on the governor's statement.

Last week, The news outlet 247 reported that a disagreement between João Alves and state representative Augusto Bezerra (DEM) was hindering the completion of Proinveste. This is because the mayor wanted his party, DEM, to only designate the West Perimeter Avenue to receive the funds, while the congressman wanted money allocated to the road that will connect São Miguel to Feira Nova, in the interior, as well. It seems the two reached an agreement.
