Journalist João Doria Jr., president of the Business Leaders Group, has been organizing recent meetings between the governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB), and major business figures. This week, he hosted a dinner at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes for executives such as Marcelo Odebrecht, from the Odebrecht construction company, Jorge Gerdau, from the Gerdau group, and Johnny Saad, from the Bandeirantes group. On Sunday, the governor will travel to the US for a seminar at the Harvard Club in New York City on investments in São Paulo, organized by Lide and the Brazil-US Chamber of Commerce. Alckmin, a PSDB pre-candidate in 2018, is strengthening ties with the business community.
