JB: "I don't buy into political parties like someone buying a bunch of bananas at the market."
Acting Governor downplays the actions of opposition leaders Edivan and Eduardo Amorim, who are intensely working to secure new party affiliations to boost their 2014 electoral project; "Today we have about 10 parties in our coalition. We have consolidated, large parties with TV and radio time, which will allow us to run a good campaign. Now, those who don't have that get nervous, chasing after parties, buying parties, taking over parties, to get a second here, a second there. In our state, people vote more for candidates than for parties. Therefore, I have no concern about that whatsoever. While they are chasing after parties, I am working for the people. And it is the people who will analyze this later on," stated Jackson.
247 - Acting Governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) mocked, in an interview this Friday (27) on Megga FM, the joining of parties to the group of Edivan and Eduardo Amorim. He stressed that the government bloc has a consolidated set of parties in its base, which will give it enough radio and TV time in the electoral propaganda during the 2014 campaign.
“I don’t do politics by trying to buy parties like someone buying bunches of bananas at the market. Today we have about 10 parties in our coalition. We have consolidated, large parties with TV and radio time, which will allow us to run a good campaign. Now, those who don’t have that get nervous, chasing after parties, buying parties, taking over parties, to get a second here, a second there. In our state, people vote more for candidates than for parties. Therefore, I have no concern about that whatsoever. While they chase after parties, I work for the people. And it is the people who will analyze this later on,” he stated.
Currently, the acting governor's base includes the PT, PMDB, PSB, PCdoB, PSD, and PRP parties. The new Pros party will also be part of Jackson's base. Former federal deputy Bosco Costa is the party's president.
