Brazil's Attorney General promises to appeal to the full court if the rapporteur of the "mensalão tucano" (PSDB corruption scandal) case, Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, decides to send the case to the Federal Court in Minas Gerais.
247 - Since resigning from his seat in the Chamber of Deputies, it is up to Minister Luís Roberto Barroso to decide whether or not the case against Eduardo Azeredo, the key figure in the PSDB's mensalão scandal, will remain in the Supreme Federal Court.
With the loss of privileged jurisdiction, the case could return to the Federal Court in Minas Gerais. The Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, has declared himself against the maneuver and promises to appeal.
