Jackson and Renan discuss development.

The governors of Sergipe, Jackson Barreto (PMDB), and Alagoas, Renan Filho (PMDB), participated in a meeting to discuss economic issues of interest to both states, such as the construction of the bridge between the municipalities of Penedo (AL) and Neópolis (SE); the project will be built with federal funds through the São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys Development Company (Codevasf).

Alagoas 247 - In Alagoas for a courtesy visit to Governor Renan Filho (PMDB), in the early afternoon of Friday (25), Governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) also discussed common interests of the two States and economic potential that can further unite the South of Alagoas and the North of Sergipe.

The conversation focused on the construction of a bridge between the municipalities of Penedo (AL) and Neópolis (SE). The project will be built with federal funds and managed by the São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys Development Company (Codevasf). At least R$ 320 million is guaranteed.

Barreto presented a project for another bridge, which was analyzed by the Secretary of State for Transportation and Urban Mobility of Alagoas, Mosart Amaral. The Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Urban Development of Sergipe, Valmor Barbosa Bezerra, presented the bridge's blueprint to those present.

Renan Filho spoke openly with his fellow governor and assured him that he will analyze the project.

"Governor Jackson is a long-time friend and we will certainly reach an understanding. I will analyze the request presented today with great care," confirmed the governor of Alagoas.

After lunch at the Floriano Peixoto Palace Museum, Renan Filho and Jackson Barreto discussed the national political situation, the economy, and initiatives implemented in Alagoas and Sergipe that could promote the integrated development of the Northeast.
