Sergipe 247 - The Governor of the State, Jackson Barreto, participated this Thursday, the 09th, in Colônia 13, in Lagarto, in the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a new headquarters for HDA do Nordeste Indústria e Comércio de Componentes, a company that works in the production of LED lamps - from the English Light Emitting Diode - for the public sector throughout Brazil.

“It is through hard work that we are trying to overcome the crisis, boosting the state's economy and improving the lives of our people. The arrival of the HDA Iluminação LED company represents another achievement for our Government. After all, through Codise, by means of incentives granted by PSDI, we attracted its installation in the Colônia Treze village. I am certain that the company has great growth potential and whatever is within the reach of the Government of Sergipe to attract other companies to establish themselves here, we will do,” assured Governor Jackson Barreto.

For the company's founding partner, Adriano Honaiser, bringing the company to the state is a great source of satisfaction. Honaiser highlighted the seriousness of the legal process for establishing the company in the state and how this lends credibility to businesses that come to Sergipe. “I am grateful for all the support given by Governor Jackson Barreto, because in a time of 'Lava Jato' and all these controversies that have been happening, HDA decided to invest in a serious and honest state. It is a great source of pride to move to Sergipe,” declared the businessman.

According to Honaiser, the company plans to move all operations to Sergipe very soon. "Sergipe will gain the only LED company in the Northeast, which already sells to all states in the federation and is beginning the export process. With the move, everything will be produced here in Lagarto, in Colônia Treze, and very soon HDA will become completely Sergipe-based, as we will bring all our production here," he stated.

Jackson highlighted the achievement. "With the announcement, made by the managers, of the change of headquarters to Sergipe, the people of Lagarto have even more reasons to celebrate."

The new factory is expected to generate 60 direct and 180 indirect jobs, from an investment of R$ 5 million, and should have an annual revenue of R$ 100 million. The move to the state began in 2015, during the administration of then-president of Codise, Sérgio Reis, with the support of Governor Jackson Barreto, and continued under the current administration of Rosman Pereira.

The company from Rio Grande do Sul received incentives from the Sergipe Industrial Development Program (PSDI) of the State Government, which aims to stimulate the economy by attracting new businesses through the granting of incentives. In parallel with the construction of the factory, HDA will operate in a temporary park to expedite its production.

According to the state secretary for Economic Development, Science and Technology, José Augusto Pereira de Carvalho, the arrival of a new company is always welcome. "I know that HDA made an excellent choice coming to Sergipe, because the unanimous comment from all the businesspeople who choose Sergipe as their headquarters is the happiness in working alongside our hardworking, honest, serious, and dedicated people," he revealed.

According to the CEO of Codise, the new venture is a cause for celebration, as it provides job creation and income generation for Sergipe during this time of national economic crisis, which affects states and municipalities. “But, despite the crisis, the government is not giving up and has been working hard to overcome this very difficult moment. I will never forget the phrase the governor told us at our last general meeting: 'Crisis can only be overcome with work.' It is from this inspiration that all of us at Codise seek to emulate, bringing more companies and opportunities to Sergipe,” stated Rosman Pereira.

Through the Sergipe Industrial Development Program, the state of Sergipe has received several investments in the industrial sector. The Northeast Glass Industry – IVN, in the municipality of Estância, inaugurated in April 2016, received an investment of R$ 270 million, resulting from a partnership between Ipiaram Empreendimentos e Participações and Verallia Brasil.
Furthermore, also in Estância, the program attracted the Jundu mining industry, representing an investment of R$ 8,5 million, and the Famossul factory, which produces doors and wood-based components, with an investment of R$ 12 million.

But the highlight is the Porto de Sergipe Thermoelectric Power Plant, which will be the largest of its kind in Latin America. It will receive a total investment of approximately R$ 5 billion, one of the largest ever made in the history of the State of Sergipe.

The project is expected to last 36 months, generating 1.700 direct jobs and approximately 2 indirect jobs during the construction period. The power plant should be fully operational in January 2020 and will have the capacity to generate 15 megawatts (MW) of electricity. To assess the scale of the project, it could single-handedly meet 1,5% of the energy demand of the entire Northeast region.
