Jackson is seeking resources from the Ministry of National Integration.

247 - Governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) was at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Integration, in Brasília, on Thursday (11), accompanied by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Valmor Barbosa and the CEO of Deso, Carlos Mello.

With Minister Helder Barbalho, they discussed the release of missing funds for the PAC Seca (Water Pipelines) project, which involves expanding the water supply systems in the Southern, Alto Sertão, and Sertaneja regions, reinforcing the water supply for several municipalities in Sergipe.

They also discussed dredging the São Francisco aqueduct channel to ensure water intake and, consequently, the water supply for Greater Aracaju, which largely depends on this system.

Another topic was the progress of sanitation works in the municipalities of Itabi, Pacatuba, and São Francisco.

Regarding infrastructure, the discussion focused on the release of funds for the construction of a bridge over the Sergipe River, in the municipality of Nossa Senhora das Dores.

In the area of ​​Civil Defense, the minister pledged to release funds for combating the drought, which could reach R$ 10 million.

Minister Helder Barbalho said he will restore the flow of funds for the PAC Seca water pipeline projects. He instructed the Secretary of Water Infrastructure, Rodrigo Mendes, to facilitate the normalization of resources for the Alto Sertão, Sertaneja, and southern region pipelines.

"This involves releasing installments for projects already underway. We will have no problems resolving these issues. I assure you that there will be no interruption in the disbursements," the minister stated.
Regarding the release of funds for the sanitation works in the municipalities of Itabi, Pacatuba, and São Francisco, which are currently underway, the minister has ordered that these funds be included in a cash flow budget being prepared to meet these short-term needs and ensure their application for the completion of these projects.
