Lucas Reginato _247 Adele's reign at the top of the British charts seemed endless, but then American singer Jack White managed to outsell her in the UK and reached the number one spot with his new album, Blunderbuss. His album, 21, had been at the top for over a year.

The guitarist's release marked his solo career debut – for fourteen years he was part of the White Stripes alongside Meg White, a group that established him as one of the greatest musicians in history – and he was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as the 17th greatest guitarist of all time.

His new work, highly anticipated by fans, did not disappoint, continuing the solid career he has built over the last decade. The guitars made their appearance even before the official CD release with the music video for Sixteen Saltines, which, in addition to taking Jack White to the garage, showcases a very well-produced filming job.

At the other end of White's talent spectrum is "Love Interruption," which also got a music video even before the album's official release. But while in "Sixteen Saltines" White exalts rock'n'roll in its most visceral and even danceable form, in this other track he shares vocals with Ruby Amanfu and exposes a melancholy inherited from the folk tradition of the United States.

Beyond the musician's talent, which earned him a well-deserved top spot on the best-selling charts, other interesting details highlight his unique character. On the album tour, which was made available for free streaming on iTunes, two bands were formed: one all-female and the other all-male. At each show, White decides which band he wants to share the stage with, making his tour more spontaneous and less predictable.
