Bruna Cavalcanti_247 - There are still three months until Carnival, but in Recife, the festivities of Momo are already gradually being celebrated. Every Saturday in November and December, the Recife neighborhood will host a gathering of lyrical carnival groups, recalling the beloved carnivals of yesteryear.

The project, named Alegres Bandos – Encontros de Blocos (Happy Bands – Carnival Groups Gatherings), features the participation of 14 carnival groups. At each celebration, one of the groups will be honored with its own repertoire and costumed members.

The event is conceived by singer Claudionor Germano, in partnership with producer Pedro Casto and with the support of the Tourism Secretariats of Recife and Pernambuco. From January to February 2012, the events will be held at Parque Dona Lindu, located in the southern part of Recife, always with free admission.
