Iran sees João as inert in the daily life of the city.

According to opposition councilman Iran Barbosa (PT), managing a city is, above all, about having a focus on the micro, on the everyday, but the population of Aracaju has witnessed problems accumulating without solution during the seven months of João Alves Filho's administration; "in the streets of Aracaju we have seen things we haven't seen before, difficulties with urban cleaning, streets that are becoming, every day, spaces that make good traffic impossible due to the numerous potholes, something we had overcome in past administrations and that is returning in this administration," he pointed out.

Iran sees João as inert in the daily life of the city.

George W. Silva, from the Parliamentary Advisory Office - At the opening of the work in the municipal legislature of Aracaju, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (6), councilor Iran Barbosa (PT) occupied the tribune of the Municipal Chamber of Aracaju (CMA) to criticize the current inertia of the municipal administration with regard to the daily life of the city. In the parliamentarian's view, the problems have already accumulated throughout Aracaju in a very visible way and bring back memories of an administrative past of the current mayor of the Capital that is a sad reference for the people of Sergipe.

"During the last administration of the current mayor, João Alves Filho, in the state government of Sergipe, we witnessed an episode that I hope will not be repeated here in our capital, when there was a general paralysis in the daily services of the State, a complete lethargy due to a single objective, which was the mega-construction of the bridge that connects Aracaju to Barra dos Coqueiros," criticized the councilman.

According to Iran, due to the decision made by the then-governor of the state, Sergipe experienced an almost total and widespread paralysis of the daily services offered to the population. "We had the closure of regional hospitals, a tragedy regarding the maintenance of state highways, and it seems to me that we are repeating this in the city of Aracaju, with the focus solely on macro-level projects to the detriment of attending to the small daily needs of our city, such as urban cleaning, small pothole repair operations on city streets, the daily functioning of government offices, health centers, and schools," he listed.

In his opinion, managing a city is, above all, about having a focus on the micro, on everyday life, but the population of Aracaju has witnessed problems accumulating without resolution during the seven months of João Alves Filho's administration.

"On the streets of Aracaju, we have seen things we haven't witnessed in a long time, such as difficulties with urban cleanliness, and streets that are becoming increasingly difficult to navigate due to numerous potholes, something we had overcome in past administrations but which is returning under this administration," he pointed out.

The councilman emphasized the fact that the term "buracaju" (meaning "hole" or "mess") hadn't been heard in the city to refer to the capital of Sergipe for a long time, and that now it is routinely heard among people.

“I hope and am willing to contribute so that we can move forward so that Aracaju does not become a city that is a reference for public filth, traffic impossibility, and potholed streets. A general effort is needed to ensure that the administration focuses on addressing daily needs. The large projects that the mayor intends to introduce will be welcome, but without ever neglecting the day-to-day work of caring for the daily lives of the city's residents,” the councilman emphasized.
