Following the clash between organized fan groups of Internacional, the club adopted severe measures against Guarda Popular and Nação Independente. The club banned the organized groups from entering the Beira-Rio stadium and expelled six fans from its membership.

The club's goal is to prevent the club's brand from being associated with episodes of violence, such as the one on Sunday. The club also confirmed that punishments such as expulsions will be standard practice.

Another measure will be biometrics to prevent this type of fan, banned from the club, from buying membership cards using the names of third parties.

"The biometric system has been in place since 2012. With the renovation of the Beira-Rio stadium and the move to Caxias (the club hosted matches at the Centenário stadium), it went offline. We want to reuse it as soon as possible. This is also to prevent members' cards from being rented. It's complicated to prove that this rental occurs, but we receive reports about it. With the system, it will be much more difficult," stated Inter's director of fan support, Luis Fernando Martins Oliveira.

"We cannot stand idly by. This has reached its limit. We will not accept this type of confrontation. Of the 11 arrested, 10 were registered with Inter, and six are still members. They have been expelled, and we will not allow the other five to become members," he added.
