247 - At least 25 people have died this month in the St. Petersburg region of Russia after consuming adulterated vodka. Another 17 deaths are still under investigation, and one victim remains hospitalized in serious condition. In India, similar tragedies have been frequently repeated. In recent years, hundreds of people have lost their lives after ingesting adulterated drinks. In June 2024, for example, 37 people died and more than 100 were hospitalized in the state of Tamil Nadu after consuming a distilled spirit mixed with a toxic chemical compound.

In São Paulo, the city hall of São Bernardo do Campo confirmed this Wednesday (1st) another death due to methanol poisoning, raising to six the number of deaths registered in the state in recent days.
