Influencer with 5,2 million followers promotes illegal betting in Brazil.

The Attorney General's Office (AGU) has intensified its efforts to stop the promotion of this type of illegal practice.

Influencer promotes various illegal games on their account.

247 - MC Anderson Neiff, a brega funk artist who recently met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Recife at an event that brought together several regional artists, at the invitation of Mayor João Campos, is widely known not only for his musical career but also for promoting, on his social media, gambling games that are not authorized to operate in Brazil.

With over 5,2 million followers, Neiff often promotes these platforms, which experts point out as highly addictive. In his videos and posts, the influencer emphasizes the supposed ease of winning prizes. However, experts warn that, in general, the gambler may even have an initial profit, but soon accumulates losses, creating a false sense of gain that is impossible to repeat.

Brazil's Attorney General's Office (AGU) has intensified its efforts to stop the promotion of this type of illegal practice. The agency notified Meta, the company that controls networks like Instagram and Facebook, to remove advertisements and promotions from profiles that advertise online betting and games without government authorization.

According to the Attorney General's Office (AGU), searches in Meta's advertising library identified hundreds of active pieces of content promoting platforms that do not meet the requirements of Brazilian law. By law, fixed-odds betting can only be operated with prior authorization from the Ministry of Finance. Companies operating without this permission are operating illegally — and, consequently, advertising these services is also prohibited.
