While the Joint Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPMI) on Cachoeira is expected to focus its efforts on the governor of Goiás, Marconi Perillo (PSDB), evidence for investigating the gambling kingpin's network is taking a backseat. This is shown in a report by the Court of Accounts of Municipalities (TCM) of Goiás, where 43 municipalities have entered into some type of contract with companies identified by the Federal Police (PF) as being linked to the illegal gambling businessman's scheme.

According to the report, published by G1, in addition to Goiânia, large and politically influential municipalities such as Catalão, Anápolis, and Valparaíso appear on the list of city halls that received payments from Cachoeira's companies. The issue has already been raised by the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Legislative Assembly of Goiás, but is ignored by the Cachoeira Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI). The companies provided asphalt paving services and also acquired construction materials for the city halls, shows the report from the Goiás State Court of Accounts (TCM).

In Valparaíso alone, they reportedly received approximately R$ 330 from the city hall. According to the investigation, Delta Construtora also secured contracts worth nearly R$ 300 million for services in various parts of the state. In Anápolis, the amount is just over R$ 100 million. The company was contracted to handle garbage collection and urban cleaning in the city for five years. The city hall informed that next week another company will take over the services previously provided by the construction company.

In Catalão, Delta continues to collect garbage and maintain the landfill. The contract was signed three years ago, and since then, the company has received approximately R$ 20 million from the city government.

Environment

Carlinhos Cachoeira's alleged associates also expanded their business in the region near Brasília. The company linked to the racketeer received R$ 327 in contracts from the Valparaíso de Goiás city hall between 2009 and 2011. The rental of a property in a neighborhood near the city hall brought in more than R$ 37 for the company in three years.

The municipality also paid just over R$3,000 for the purchase of construction materials and materials used by the city's traffic division. These services were provided by a company that, according to the Federal Police, doesn't even have a physical address and exists only on paper.

Operation Monte Carlo

Valparaíso was identified as one of the centers of illegal gambling in the state by Operation Monte Carlo. In the municipality, at least 20 military police officers were removed from their posts by the courts on suspicion of involvement with the slot machine mafia. Even a delegate from the Integrated Security Operations Center (Ciops), who was supposed to combat gambling, was also forced to leave his position.

The Valparaíso city hall reported that the companies submitted the necessary documentation to complete the contracts and that all established deadlines were met correctly.
