Inflation as measured by the IPC-S rises in Belo Horizonte.

Belo Horizonte was one of five capital cities that registered an increase (from 0,54% to 0,57%) in the Weekly Consumer Price Index, measured by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation; the index rose from 0,38% in the second preliminary reading of the month to 0,40% in the third.

Rio de Janeiro – Inflation measured by the Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) increased in five of the seven capitals in the third week of May, the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) announced this Friday (24). The index rose from 0,38% in the second preliminary reading of the month to 0,40% in the third.

The data shows that increases were recorded in Porto Alegre, where the percentage almost doubled (from 0,24% to 0,41%), in São Paulo (from 0,42% to 0,49%), in Rio de Janeiro (from 0,39% to 0,44%), in Belo Horizonte (from 0,54% to 0,57%) and in Recife (0,50% and 0,51%).

On the other hand, Salvador and Brasília registered a drop in the IPC-S in the third preliminary reading for May. In Salvador, the variation was from 0,05% to -0,30%; in Brasília, the index decreased from 0,64% to 0,59%.
