Fire destroys speedboat in Maragogi.
A boat that carried out nautical tours and was anchored in the sea off Ponta de Mangue beach, in Maragogi, North Coast of Alagoas, was destroyed by fire in the early hours of this Monday (8); it is suspected that the fire was arson; valued at around R$ 30 thousand, the boat was completely destroyed.

The president of the Ponta de Mangue Snack Bar Owners Association (ALPM), Jefferson Rafael da Rocha Santos, believes the fire was arson and recalls that... it's not the first since acts of sabotage are being carried out against vessels anchored in the sea off Ponta de Mangue that offer tourist excursions.
“The Association condemns any and all acts of this nature, as this is our job, on which we depend. It is not the first time that undesirable surprises have occurred with our vessels. But we will await the results of the police investigation,” said Jefferson Rafael, noting that the owner of the vessel is no longer part of the association, but that, despite this, she could not fail to condemn what happened.
There was no one on board the vessel, which was anchored. The speedboat, valued at approximately R$ 30, caught fire and was completely destroyed. Engulfed in flames, the vessel broke free from its moorings and was carried alongside a catamaran, which is also used for nautical excursions.
Hotel security guards noticed the fire and managed to prevent it from also destroying the catamaran. According to Jefferson Rafael, the owner of the destroyed boat will file a complaint with the Civil Police.
