Impeachment: Imbassahy says 'Dilma chickened out'

The leader of the PSDB party in the Chamber of Deputies, Antônio Imbassahy, criticized President Dilma Rousseff for not attending the Senate session in which her former minister, José Eduardo Cardozo, presented his defense in the impeachment process. "It's unbelievable that at such an important time for the country, the suspended president, who claims to have been insulted and wronged, doesn't appear to defend herself and sends a letter instead? This is reminiscent of the old saying: silence implies consent, and those who are afraid don't show up," says Imbassahy. In the document, Dilma repeats the same arguments she used previously in the Chamber and alleges she is the victim of a "legal and political farce."

Bahia 247 - The PSDB leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Antônio Imbassahy (BA), criticized President Dilma Rousseff for not attending the Senate session in which her former minister José Eduardo Cardozo presented his defense in the impeachment process, on Wednesday (6).

"It's unbelievable that at such an important time for the country, the ousted president, who claims to have been insulted and wronged, doesn't appear to defend herself and sends a letter instead? This brings to mind the old saying: silence implies consent, and those who are afraid don't show up," says Imbassahy.

In the document, Dilma repeats the same arguments she previously used in the Chamber of Deputies, claiming to be the victim of a "legal and political farce."

According to the PSDB leader, "Deep down, Dilma knows she committed a crime of responsibility."

"Therefore, the temporary removal will become permanent, meaning there will be an impeachment of a president who dishonored her office and violated the Constitution," says the leader of the PSDB party.
