Ibama approves license for two more sections of the Fiol railway.

The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) has issued the installation license (LI) for the advancement of works on lots 5 and 5A of the West-East Integration Railway (FIOL); together, the works represent an investment of over R$ 850 million; lot 5 has a length of 162 km, starting from the municipality of Caetité to Bom Jesus da Lapa; lot 5A consists of the construction of a 2,9 km bridge over the São Francisco River.

The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) has issued the installation license (LI) for the advancement of works on lots 5 and 5A of the West-East Integration Railway (FIOL). Together, the works represent an investment of over R$ 850 million.

The Chief of Staff and pre-candidate for governor of the state for the PT party, Rui Costa, celebrated the news. "The IBAMA installation license allows us to proceed with the works on this project, which is extremely important for the economic development of our entire state. We will expedite the works and generate employment and income for the population of the region."

Lot 5 extends for 162 km, starting from the municipality of Caetité and ending in Bom Jesus da Lapa. Lot 5A consists of the construction of a 2,9 km bridge over the São Francisco River.

On the Fiol railway, work is also underway on lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, with the latter already 92,2% of the earthworks completed. According to information from VALEC, the company executing the works, with the opening of these lots, the railway has already generated more than 6 direct jobs.
