Henry: 'Relationship between PMDB and PT is deteriorating'

Pernambuco 247 - Federal deputy Raul Henry (PMDB-PE), nominated to be the vice-presidential candidate on the PSB ticket that will compete in the succession of the governor and presidential pre-candidate, Eduardo Campos, said that relations between his party and the PT “have deteriorated”. The statement comes in the wake of increased tension between the two parties, allies at the national level, due to the PMDB wanting to occupy more positions in the government because of the ministerial reform being carried out by President Dilma Rousseff (PT).

“In these elections, the PMDB will form more alliances against the PT than in favor of it. There is a deterioration in the elections. It's evident. This week, the meeting of the PMDB's federal caucus made this very clear,” Henry declared to Jamildo's Blog. Nominated by Senator Jarbas Vasconcelos to be the vice-presidential candidate on the socialist ticket, the congressman said that the competitiveness of Campos's presidential candidacy was the reason for the increased criticism from the PT.

“Within the party's national caucus, there is a clear feeling that Eduardo Campos is a competitive candidate to win the election. And this helps explain the criticism he has been receiving from the PT. Everyone was very impressed with his performance this week in Brasília, at the launch of the PSB and Rede program. Eduardo galvanized the audience with a speech that resonates with the people. On the same day he spoke about the energy issue, there was a blackout that night,” he stated.
