A helicopter crashed early Saturday evening (16) in Espírito Santo do Dourado (MG); according to the Fire Department, the aircraft belongs to a banking network; according to Captain Ivan Santos Pereira Neto, from the fire department, the aircraft, identified as Agusta A109, took off from Nova Lima (MG), and was going to Congonhas airport, in São Paulo (SP).
Mines 247 - A helicopter crashed early Saturday evening (16) in Espírito Santo do Dourado (MG), killing two people. According to the Fire Department, the aircraft belongs to a banking network. The identities of the passengers have not yet been confirmed.
Firefighters reported that the helicopter crashed near the MG-179 highway, in the rural area of the municipality, around 19 pm. According to Captain Ivan Santos Pereira Neto of the fire department, the aircraft, identified as an Agusta A109, took off from Nova Lima (MG) and was headed to Congonhas Airport in São Paulo (SP).
Sabrina Carvalho, a resident of the area, took a photo of the aircraft on the ground, already on fire. "It passed very close to my house, then the metal structure in my area started shaking, making a lot of noise. My husband went outside and said it was passing very close and flashing a lot, a red light on it turning on and off," she told G1. "A few seconds passed, we heard that noise like it had crashed. Then we got in the car and went there, it had exploded."
