Evam Sena_247, in Brasília – The corruption allegations affecting the Ministry of Sports, which led to the replacement of former minister Orlando Silva (PCdoB-BA) by Aldo Rebelo (PCdoB-SP), were the target of a hacker protest in the early afternoon today. At noon, a group calling itself Ipirates Group announced, via Twitter, that it would attack the ministry's website, which was offline for approximately four hours.

"The filth of beggars is cleaner than the corruption in the Ministry of Sports," the Twitter profile posted at 13 PM. Although they announced they would attack the ministry's website "indefinitely," they backed down and announced they would end the protest at 16 PM.

The ministry confirmed to Brasil247 that the website suffered an attack and, due to slowdowns, was taken offline. Apparently, no modifications were made to the page's content and there is no evidence of data theft.

This is not the first time the Ministry of Sport's website has been hacked. In June of this year, the group LulzSec Brasil claimed responsibility for the attack and released alleged stolen data involving politicians, including President Dilma Rousseff. The government denied that they had accessed classified information.

The Federal Police are investigating a series of attacks on Brazilian government websites that occurred in June, affecting the pages of the Presidency of the Republic, Portal Brasil, the Federal Revenue Service, and the Ministry of Defense.

Allegations of a bribery scheme involving NGOs contracted by the Ministry of Sports for the "Segundo Tempo" program led to the dismissal of Orlando Silva from his position as head of the ministry a week ago. He is accused of leading the scheme, which allegedly collected money for the PCdoB party. Silva was replaced by Aldo Rebelo, but the ministry remained under the party's control.
