Ceará 247 - The Fortaleza City Council approved this Wednesday morning (20) the Complementary Law project 13/2015, which also assigns traffic enforcement to the Municipal Guard. Agents from the Municipal Traffic and Citizenship Authority (AMC), the only body responsible for the sector until then, were present at the session and booed the councilors' decision.

Submitted by Mayor Roberto Cláudio (Pros), the bill received 25 votes in favor and four against. According to the proposal, the Municipal Guard should begin exercising traffic-related powers through an agreement signed with a state and/or municipal traffic agency, or powers delegated to it by the head of the Municipal Executive Branch.
