Salvador's Municipal Guard has a new commander.
The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) has a new commander; Inspector General João Gomes de Souza Neto, a career civil servant with a degree in Public Management, has previously served in the agency as Operations Manager and now assumes command of the guard; "The fact that he has field experience and has already led the operational command of the Guard and other important sectors of the institution contributes to the adoption of plans and projects that will guide full compliance with Law 13.022/2014, which establishes general rules for Municipal Guards," says João Neto.
Bahia 247 - The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), formerly the Superintendency of Urban Security and Violence Prevention (Susprev), now has a new commander, continuing the agency's restructuring project. Inspector General João Gomes de Souza Neto, a career civil servant with a degree in Public Management, previously served in the agency as Operations Manager and now assumes command.
João Neto worked on the development and implementation of the Operational Employment Plan, which resulted in an increased presence of the institution's agents in public spaces.
He also served as Violence Prevention Manager, where he was responsible for coordinating the Guardians of Peace project, focused on educational activities in schools, in addition to participating in the teams that implemented the Integrated Strategic and Operational Management System and the agency's Operations Center, where he served as coordinator.
Among the duties of the new inspector are representing the local authority, including entering into agreements, contracts, covenants or arrangements, in accordance with the relevant legislation, as well as supervising, coordinating, guiding, directing and executing the services of the Municipal Guard.
"The fact that I have field experience and have already served as the operational commander of the Guard and other important sectors of the institution contributes to the adoption of plans and projects that will guide full compliance with Law 13.022/2014, which establishes general rules for Municipal Guards," stated Inspector João Neto.
