A group involved in the "tent scam" is being sought by the PCDF (Federal District Civil Police).

247 - A gang specializing in scams during the organization of large events is being targeted by the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) this Friday (January 5th). The gang organized the "tent scam," where they rented the structures but never installed them. According to police investigations, the scam has been happening since 2018 and they are believed to have committed more than 50 fraud crimes throughout the Federal District.

They advertised fake tent and event equipment rental services through fictitious companies. After being contacted by interested parties, members of the criminal group demanded an advance payment of 50% of the agreed amount, promising to install the equipment on the agreed date.

On the agreed-upon day, the tent was not set up, and the group members began apologizing for the lack of installation, promising to return the money paid as a deposit. However, the scammers ended up appropriating the money paid in advance and subsequently stopped answering phone calls and messages from the victims.
