Strike at Chesf ends and 5,7 return to work.

The 5,7 employees of the São Francisco Hydroelectric Company (Chesf) returned to work after a 24-day strike; the return to activities was decided in an assembly that ratified the agreement signed between the category and Eletrobras, a state-owned energy company that employs 27 professionals throughout the country; the electrical workers obtained a salary adjustment based on the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA) accumulated up to May of this year, of 6,49%, in addition to a real readjustment of around 2,5%.

PE247 - The 5,7 employees of the São Francisco Hydroelectric Company (Chesf) returned to work after a 24-day strike. The return to work was decided in an assembly that ratified the agreement signed between the category and Eletrobras, a state-owned energy company that employs 27 professionals throughout the country, celebrated last Wednesday (7). The electricians obtained a salary adjustment based on the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA) accumulated until May of this year, of 6,49%, in addition to a real adjustment of around 2,5%. A new salary adjustment will also be implemented in 2014.

The real wage adjustment will be divided into three installments, with the first, of approximately 0,8%, retroactive to May, the month of the category's base date. The second installment of 0,7% will be added in January of next year, and the remaining 1% will be granted in September.

The agreement also ensured the maintenance of the clauses of the last collective agreement and that benefits related to economic issues will be adjusted by the IPCA (Brazilian inflation index). Workers will also have five days of the strike compensated. The remaining strike days will be excused by the Eletrobras system companies.
